Most of the communities and families we work with in Lwengo have faced difficult challenges ranging from loss of a loved one, HIV-Aids stigma, to poverty issues. These usually affect emotional healthy which puts them at a great risk of mental problems. Some women and children face domestic violence and young girls are at a high risk of sexual harassment.
To counter these issues, Mbajja Foundation runs a psycho social support program reaching out to victims across Lwengo to provide counselling and guidance support. Our social workers move to the communities and to individual families seeking out people in need of this support and providing the support.
This has gone a long way in helping vulnerable people overcome stigma and other related issues and given them confidence to successfully move on with their lives.
